She has been awarded one of France’s highest honors, the Officier de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Officer of the Order of Arts andLetters), a distinction bestowed on leaders of the international arts community for their contribution and commitment to cultural service.
From the early start of her career, Silvia has always sought to capture a natural
kind of elegance that is never forced or pretentious and in so doing, she has
successfully carved out her own niche within the luxury sector. Her vision can be
characterized as ‘Effortless Elegance’, the same title given to her book published
by Random House in 2009. Her pieces are praised worldwide for their attention to
detail and impeccable craftmanship, with an emphasis on well-executed ‘soft
tailoring.’ Known for her mastery of color and texture, she works in an experimental and artistic manner, achieving a unique aesthetic that has captivated members of royal families, Hollywood stars and fashion icons.
Born on the shores of the Colombian Caribbean, she began her career as an
interior designer, and yet the search for novel artistic expressions subsequently led her to fashion. Her collections include atelier, ready-to-wear and accessories.
