Memento Mori, from the Latin 'Remember you will die', is less a doom-laden prophecy, but instead an inducement to live every day to the full, as if it might be your last.
The NUDE Memento Mori series by the Istanbul-based designer, Ali Bakova, depicts the timeless mantra — an artistic and symbolic reminder of mortality. Each of the solid crystalline glass pieces is shaped like a human skull, with the faceted finish reflecting the light in a prismatic fashion. Rendered in a metallic silver hue, this large version is both majestic and fragile — perfectly in line with the theme.
